Monsanto makes the list for the third year in a row.

For the third year in a row, Monsanto Caribe made the list as one of the Best Employers in Puerto Rico in the medium sized-business category. The list, coordinated by AON Hewitt and published in newspaper El Nuevo Día, identifies companies that are on the cutting edge of human resources development and management.

Lourdes Torres Colón, Human Resources Leader for Monsanto Caribe, said: “We are very proud to receive this distinction for the third time. We are very grateful to our employees for the commitment they show every day and the quality of their work. Our operation’s success would not be possible without the work they do. Our commitment (the Monsanto Pledge) is the key element of successful business.”

Torres Colón explained that what sets Monsanto Caribe apart from other companies is the company’s vision of the human resources’ role as a business partner and its corporate culture. It is focused on teamwork, it’s not hierarchical and it promotes an entrepreneurial mindset. This allows its people to make larger contributions to the company earlier and more frequently, which is not the case with other companies. This makes Monsanto the ideal company for people who want to learn quickly and try new things in “live” projects.

“Monsanto offers employees a complete compensation package that goes beyond a salary with employee health and financial security benefits, in addition to growth opportunities. We acknowledge employees’ contributions to the company at all of levels of the organization. Through their work, all our employees have the opportunity to help farmers feed and dress the world,” concluded Torres Colón.

Company participation in the list of the Best Employers in Puerto Rico is voluntary. The companies distribute questionnaires among their employees to analyze their commitment and satisfaction with the company. Likewise, the Human Resources division is evaluated through a practice analysis.

The Best Employers in Puerto Rico recognizes companies in three categories: Large companies, with 400 employees or more; medium sized businesses, with a workforce of 151 to 399 employees and small businesses, with a workforce of 150 to 65 employees. Monsanto Caribe began participating in this initiative in 2012 and has won the distinction every year since.
