ST. LOUIS, MO – Monsanto has earned the 2016 Military Friendly® Employer designation by Victory Media, publisher of G.I. Jobs® and Military Spouse.

“Monsanto values the leadership, adaptability, teamwork and results-driven orientation that veterans and service members bring to the table,” said Monsanto Global Commercial Vice President Mike Frank. “We’re honored to be recognized as a Military Friendly Employer.”

Criteria for the elite Military Friendly® Employer title included an evaluation of the strength of company military recruiting efforts, the percentage of new hires with prior military service, retention programs for veterans, and company policies on National Guard and Reserve service.

“Companies that have earned the 2016 Military Friendly® Employer award have exceptionally strong hiring programs and meaningful careers for transitioning service members and spouses,” said Daniel Nichols, Chief Product Officer of Victory Media and Navy Reserve veteran. “Our Military Friendly® Employers are moving the needle beyond answering ‘why hire military’—they are truly aligning their jobs and recruiting efforts with Military Friendly® educators to translate military competencies into civilian jobs.”

“As a company that thrives on innovation to help make a balanced meal accessible to everyone, we need varied and innovative thinking at every point in our business. Veterans and service members add value to Monsanto’s culture through their skills and experiences,” added Frank.

Veterans employed by Monsanto are helping solve some of the world’s greatest food supply challenges and they have the support of an organization dedicated to employee success and development. The company’s Vanguard employee business resource network also provides opportunities to partner with military groups in building and enhancing communities through volunteer activities to support a wide variety of projects.

Monsanto will be showcased along with other 2016 Military Friendly® Employers in the December issue of G.I. Jobs® magazine and the January 2016 issue of Military Spouse Magazine. The complete list of Military Friendly Employers can be found on
